“The single most powerful determinant of success in an SME business is having a professionally-qualified Non Exec on board”
Warwick University Business School
Ron Stradling FIBC
After twenty successful years in sales and service, and then in senior (solely P & L responsible) general management roles in the vehicle manufacturing and vehicle retailing sectors, Ron sought subsequently to utilise his extensive knowledge and experience as a Non Exec in the SME business arena.
Since 1989 he has assisted many different types of SME businesses providing expertise in numerous areas, including strategic planning, business planning, business performance management, senior management development and leadership skills, change management programmes, effective communications and customer care. Not surprisingly, Ron is passionate about helping individuals and their businesses both achieve their full potential.
Ron has also acted as an Interim MD and has completed a number of highly successful growth and turnaround projects, in which he has assisted also in the design and implementation of in-house management development programmes.
His earlier career grew from an initial apprenticeship, then gaining experience of starting new departments, and of subsequently assisting in the takeover and running of family-owned businesses
Ron’s broad business experience includes also being Deputy Chief Executive and Financial Controller of a training and development social enterprise organisation that employed a total of 1200 people with budgets of approximately £4½m whilst also successfully establishing the first Business Enterprise Centre within the London Borough of Havering.
He is a SFEDI qualified business adviser, a verified Motor Industry Consultant, a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consulting (FIBC), and was the Institute of Business Adviser’s Growth Adviser of the year in 2006
