Cyril McGuinn MIBC, FCMA

Cyril trained originally as a management accountant and undertook many such roles in a wide variety of businesses in many industry sectors, after which he engaged for several years with consultancies operating in the UK SME sector in a series of assignments covering Interim FD roles, costing systems, operational systems, IT systems development, cost reduction, re-engineering, turnarounds and appraisals.

He also mounted a successful MBO which he then managed for several years, and he then subsequently presided as FD of a UK training / mentoring group over a major restructuring whilst re-engineering the totality of the commercial operations.

For many years since, Cyril's primary focus with SME clients has been on performance improvement, exploiting his combination of financial and commercial operations exposure, and acting all the while as an independent professionally-qualified medium term Non Exec.

He has a successful track record in the field of assisting productively the owners / directors / senior managers of SME companies, most commonly before during and after periods of planned significant strategic change and development in their businesses, and most particularly in the areas of (strategy change) business planning and development, and (critically) implementation, financial performance improvement, commercial management, strategic market / product planning and development, restructuring and reorganisation, turnaround / recovery, and outsourcing.

Cyril has also acted frequently as senior Non Exec in the planning preparation and implementation of exit strategies, and similarly with acquisitions, mergers, demergers, trade sales, venture capital and angel situations, also management buy ins and buy outs and joint ventures and strategic alliances. Cyril is a Full Member of the Institute of Business Consulting (MIBC), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (FCMA)
